Kishmish is an artisanal, slow clothing label based in Mumbai, India. It was established in 2009, by textile designers Nikki Kalia & Rekha Bhatia.

A LABOUR OF LOVE
Many hands and hearts go into making Kishmish products. Their high quality, labour intensive nature requires patience and skill.
They are crafted in small batches. Sewn on foot pedal sewing machines and carefully finished by hand. This reduces our use of electricity and in turn our carbon footprint.
HANDMADE IS BEAUTIFUL
We chose to work with handmade cloth for it's irregular beauty and because it is about people. Our textiles are created by various craft communities in India. Each has it's own special skills.
The slow process of hand weaving means we have to wait patiently for our fabric to arrive!
THE EARTH IS OUR HOME
Awareness of how quickly textile waste can accumulate in clothing workshops, gave birth to our 'Potla Potli' project. An endevour to upcycle our leftover cloth, into beautifully patched clothing. Each of these peices is unique as the mix of scraps varies.
As part of our service we encourage our clients to bring their old Kishmish garments back for repair. We patch and refurbish these favoraites to give them a new life & a few more wears.
