It began with a pile of scraps, tiny offcuts from our garments production, bits too beautiful to throw away. Soft, uneven pieces, impossible to ignore.
We’ve always loved dots. They are a symbol of renewal, carrying the idea that nothing is ever lost, only transformed. We started by cutting and sewing a circle. Then another, and another, until dots in various sizes began to take form.
That’s how the Nomi Dot was born - a small, hand-cut appliqué stitched onto Kishmish garments. Each one comes from leftover fabric gathered through our Potla Potli project, where we try to give new life to our scraps.
The Nomi Dot doesn’t follow rules. It has a handamde quality and can be slightly wonky, placed centred, or randomly on the garment. A sweet, playful detail within Kishmish’s otherwise clean lines.
If you’d like a Nomi Dot on a Kishmish piece you already own, you can send it to us and we’ll find the right match of scrap to make it.
